Glass for heat-insulating windows
The insulating glass has a fundamental role in the composition of the window because its quality influences the heat transfer coefficient in your home. That's why we use the best quality glass supplied by world-renowned manufacturers such as Saint Gobain, Guardian or AGC in the manufacturing process of the double glazed window.
The standard insulating glass has a thickness of 24 mm and consists of two sheets of 4 mm glass.
The distance of 16 mm between the two sheets of glass is very important, as this provides the best thermal and sound insulation.
The three-pane glass has a width between 32 mm and 52 mm, which combines three sheets of glass with corresponding batten widths. By choosing triple glazing, you get increased comfort due to superior sound insulation and lower heat transfer.
In order to improve the thermal insulation property of the double-glazed window, it is possible to opt for the introduction of an inert gas such as argon between the two sheets of glass. Using a LowE or LowE solar control glass offers multiple benefits in terms of reducing long-term costs, as they have a reduced heat transfer.
LowE glass reduces heat loss through the windows during the cold season, improving the thermal insulation capacity of the insulating glass.
The LowE Solar Control glass combines the advantages of a LowE glass with those of a reflective glass: in summer it offers high solar protection, reducing the greenhouse effect inside the house, while in winter it maintains its thermal insulation qualities, reducing heat loss to the outside. In addition, this glass has high light transmission properties compared to all types of reflective glass.
Reflective glass is used in particular to reduce the amount of heat coming from solar radiation, ensuring at the same time a high level of light transmission and privacy during the day.
Types of glass
Laminated (duplex) safety or anti-burglary glass consists of two sheets of glass glued together by a layer of transparent resin. The advantages of this type of glass are: increasing the degree of security against burglary, high-performance sound insulation, reducing the risk of accidents (does not allow the detachment of shards in case of breakage).
The colored glass in the table has both the function of sun protection and privacy protection. It absorbs the sun's energy, part of it being radiated inside and part outside the house.
The main role of decorative glass is to preserve privacy. It has a good light transmission factor and allows a better lighting of the room than in the case of using colored glass in the table or reflective glass.
